Our Cattle

Calves

Our calves are shipped from two different locations about 35 miles apart. One group in Tracy and the other in Raynesford.

All calves go through a spring and fall shot protocol to ensure healthy calves when the arrive to the buyer. 

             Branding:                                                                     3-6 Weeks prior to Weaning

1.)Modified Live (M.L.) IBR-BVD-PI3-BRSV                   1.) Killed or (M.L.) viral w/ IBR-BVD-PI3-BRSV

2.) Pasteurella (both types)                                            2.) Pasteurella (both types)

3.) Clostridial 7- or 8-Way w/ or w/out Somnus              3.) Clostridial 7- or 8-Way w/ Somnus

We sort them into three weight breaks into load lots for each sex. Heifers and steers are shipped on different days.

Steers:  700 lbs.                                              Heifers:   675 lbs.

             625 lbs.                                                             600 lbs.

             525 lbs.                                                             500 lbs.

Cull Cows

NFO puts together cull cows and bulls in the spring and fall for direct ship to livestock processing facilities.  Days are set ahead of time and producers inform our cull cow organizer with their animal numbers for shipping.  Cattle are shipped from either Tracy or Raynesford.  Animals are paid on hanging weight.
